How the Writing Goals Feature Works
Writing Goals gives you a simple but effective system to set targets and stay on track. Set your goal, enable the progress bar, and let Gorby keep you motivated as you write.
- Custom Word Goals
Enter any word count you want to reach and click "Set Goal" to start tracking. Your goal is displayed alongside your current word count so you always know where you stand.
- Real-Time Progress Tracking
Enable the goal progress bar to get a live visual indicator above the text area. You can also see the exact number of words remaining to reach your target displayed beneath your total word count.
- Visual Notifications
When you reach your writing goal, a notification appears in the top-right corner of the screen confirming your achievement — no need to keep checking your word count manually.
- Audio Notifications
Enable a sound notification so you hear the moment your goal is reached. Toggle it on or off depending on your environment — great for staying in the zone without watching the screen.

The goal progress bar keeps your target front and center, giving you a clear visual sense of how close you are without breaking your flow.
