The SEO Checks feature helps you optimize your content structure for search engines by analyzing your headers’ hierarchy and length. Proper header structure not only improves your content’s visibility in search results but also enhances reader experience through clear content organization.
Why Headers Matter
Headers play a crucial role in SEO for two main reasons:
- The H1 title appears in search engine results pages (SERPs), making its length critical for visibility
- A logical header hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) helps search engines understand your content’s structure and importance
How It Works
The feature examines your document and:
- Checks H1 header length for optimal SERP display
- Verifies you have only one H1 header per document
- Analyzes header hierarchy for proper nesting
- Highlights any structural issues that could affect SEO
Detection and Review
When you run the SEO check, the feature identifies three types of issues:
- Title Length Issues 📏 - Ensures your H1 header is optimized for search results
- Multiple H1 Headers ❗ - Flags when more than one H1 tag is present
- Hierarchy Problems 📊 - Identifies improper header nesting (e.g., H3 following H1)
Open the results panel using the “Show Results” button to see:
- A list of all detected issues
- Clear explanations of SEO impact
- Suggestions for improvement
- Options to select and review each issue
Customization Options
In the settings panel, you can:
