April 2026 Product Update: Text Tagging Improvements and Mobile Refinements
This update brings a major overhaul to the Text Tagging view, along with further improvements to the mobile experience. Here’s everything that’s new.
🏷️ Improved Text Tagging
The Text Tagging feature has received its most significant update yet, making it more powerful and easier to use.
Rich Text Preserved
Text Tagging now preserves rich text formatting. Previously, parts of speech were highlighted over plain text, which meant any formatting you had applied in the Write View wasn’t visible here. That’s no longer the case — your formatting carries over, so the tagging view reflects your text exactly as you wrote it.
Subcategories for Parts of Speech
Several parts of speech are now broken down into more specific subcategories, giving you a clearer picture of how your text is constructed. For example:
- Nouns are now split into common nouns and proper nouns
- Verbs are now split into action verbs, linking verbs, and auxiliary verbs
These are just a couple of examples, other parts of speech have received subcategories too.
Click a Word to Highlight Only It
Each part of speech tab shows a list of the words found in that category. You can now click on any individual word in that list to highlight only that word in your text — all other highlights are temporarily cleared. For example, if you’re in the Verbs tab and click on “run”, only instances of “run” will be highlighted. This makes it much easier to focus on a specific word without the distraction of everything else being highlighted at the same time.
📱 Further Mobile Improvements
We’ve continued refining the mobile experience, building on the improvements from our last update. This round of changes focuses on the Write View and the Text Checks & Highlights view, making both easier to navigate and use on smaller screens.
